eLeadership Academy™ and Royal Roads University to Jointly Offer New Leadership and Coaching Designation
VICTORIA, BC — Today, eLeadership Academy™ and Royal Roads University have officially announced a collaboration to jointly offer a new leadership and coaching designation. Exclusively for credit union leaders, the Credit Union Leadership and Coaching Designation (CULC) provides university level education for professionals looking to advance their knowledge and impact. By the end of the program, designation recipients will have developed competencies in leadership and coaching and demonstrated the application of these skills, along with an understanding of their significance within their role in the credit union system.
The CULC Designation Program is cohort-based and includes 1:1 coaching, mentor coaching, and four online workshops focusing on advanced leadership, coaching, social impact, and the credit union system. As a requirement of the designation, learners complete a team project pertaining to the development of other leaders. The team project is jointly evaluated by eLeadership Academy™ and Royal Roads University.
With nearly two decades of credit union executive experience and advanced certifications in Leadership, NeuroLeadership, and Human Resources, CEO and Founder of eLeadership Academy™ Sandra McDowell says, “We are thrilled to launch this advanced credential and honoured to partner with such a highly respected university. Royal Roads University is more than an institute of higher learning; as part of its mission, it inspires students with the courage to transform the world and their own lives."
"Partnering with organizations to deliver transformative leadership development programs is part of our mandate," says Zoe MacLeod, Associate Vice President of Professional & Continuing Studies at Royal Roads University. "We look forward to collaborating with eLeadership Academy on professional development in this sector and providing a pathway into academic programming at Royal Roads for credit union leaders."
The collaboration with Royal Roads joins a list of other successful partnerships that eLeadership Academy™ has established with associations such as the Credit Union Association of Canada (CCUA) and the Worldwide Foundation of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) to deliver leadership and coaching training for credit union professionals. “This designation was created to meet the increased demand for advanced online leadership and coaching training and to deliver on our mission to build leadership and coaching bench strength within the credit union system,” says McDowell.
Applications for the first CULC Designation cohort will begin later this year and include the following requirements:
- Completion of a Certificate in Applied Leadership (CAL) through eLeadership Academy™, representing over 100 hours of focused leadership and coaching training.
- A minimum of two years working within the credit union system managing others, or equivalent experience leading by influence operationally (preference given to those with longer tenure).
CULC Designation recipients will receive a certificate and digital credential, recognition at the annual eLeadership Academy™ Virtual Summit, and equivalency credit for Royal Roads Lead 580 Leadership, Community, and Collaboration (one of three courses in the Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership at Royal Roads University). With the option to renew the designation every three years, the CULC designation is an ideal pathway to support credit union leaders in their path to continued learning and growth.
